- Wulingyuan Town (Recommended: 2 nights or more)
Located right next to the East Gate of Forest Park, it saves a significant amount of commuting time when entering and exiting the scenic area each day; the hotels offer comprehensive amenities, and some provide basic English-language services. - Zhangjiajie City
It’s a good choice for a day trip to Tianmen Mountain, with plenty of dining options; it’s a 40–60-minute drive from Wulingyuan.
⚠️ Travel Advisory
- Temperatures at the summit are 5–10°C lower than at the base, so be sure to bring a light jacket; in the summer, be sure to protect yourself from the sun.
- High heels are not permitted on the glass walkway or glass bridge; please do not climb the railings, run, or jump.
- In the event of heavy rain or dense fog, the cable car, glass bridge, and boardwalk may be temporarily closed. Please follow the on-site announcements at the scenic area.
- Please do not feed the wild macaques in the scenic area, and do not carry plastic bags, as the monkeys may snatch your belongings.
- The entire trip involves a lot of walking, so be sure to bring non-slip athletic shoes; it rains frequently in the mountains year-round, so carry a portable raincoat with you.
